Before they start
One of the best ways to build this is to ask your most recent hires if there was anything to be improved on during the onboarding process.
Here’s 8 questions :
- Was there anything missing in the onboarding process that would’ve benefitted you?
- Did we prepare you correctly before your start date?
- Is there anything in your job role that wasn’t clear from the start?
- Was there enough training for you to get started on your new role? Are there any specific areas where you feel additional training or clarification would be beneficial?
- How would you describe the process of getting to know your team members and other colleagues? Do you feel you’re being adequately integrated well into the team?
- Are there any cultural or team initiatives you’d like to suggest to further enhance this? Were there any cultural aspects or traditions that you found particularly interesting or challenging?
- Was the handbook adequate, or would you have preferred something else added to it?
- Do you feel as though your goals have been communicated well with the company and teams’ goals? Would you like to suggest any way in which we can help enhance and align both your personal goals to the team and company goals?
